Immigrate to Saskatchewan under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program or SINP. The SINP has several streams offering competitive process times for their chosen candidates. As Saskatchewan is not part of the Atlantic provinces, it is not a beneficiary of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Project or AIPP. The SINP, though, has fine-tuned its program pathways through the years.
Today, the number of SINP nominees who become permanent residents rival Ontario and Manitoba. Not all streams of the SINP require an employer to be eligible. And not all applicants pass through the Express Entry System.
Like all other provincial nominee programs, application to the SINP for non-Express Entry paths is only the first step. As a SINP nominee, you must still apply for permanent residency through the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada or IRCC.
The SINP is monitoring its streams and sub-streams by piloting criteria changes until 2021 for specific semi-skilled occupations. Moreover, if limits are already, the provincial government may close streams and sub-streams as it believes. Check back frequently with us for changes in the SINP.
Main categories
- International Skilled Worker for skilled workers abroad who want to work and live in Saskatchewan.
- The SINP can nominate skilled workers through this category. You must meet the criteria of the SINP to know if you will be able to settle successfully in Saskatchewan.
- These factors include English or French language ability, education, skilled work experience.
- The Saskatchewan Experience is for foreign nationals currently live and work in Saskatchewan.
- These applicants may be international students or temporary foreign workers.
- This stream is for foreign workers who already live and work in Saskatchewan on a valid work permit.
- Entrepreneur and Farm SINP is for applicants who plan to start a business or buy then operate a farm in the province.

Applying to the SINP
One important point to remember is that, at any given time, you can have only one active SINP application because the SINP will not accept multiple applications
What happens when you submit an application to the SINP
- SINP will only accept complete applications. However, it may request for additional documents. You will have enough time to comply with the request. After the period is over, SINP will resume processing your application with or without complete documentation.
- To ensure your application is complete, SINP will review your application in stages.
- If SINP refuses your application due to incomplete documentation, it will send you a letter explaining why it considered your application incomplete.
- You may submit a new application and documents if you want to re-apply.
Include all Dependents in Your Application
You must list all dependents on your application to the SINP even if they will not be accompanying you to Canada. If you do not include your dependent family members, you will not be able to nominate them for permanent residency in the future.
You must provide a detailed reason and supporting documents to explain why your qualified dependents will not immigrate with you. Some of the acceptable reasons are legal separation, unresolved custody concerns, financial issues. If you do not, the SINP may disqualify your application.
Eligible dependents you must include in your application are:
- Spouse. Your spouse is your husband or wife of the opposite or same-sex.
- Common-law partner. Your common-law partner may of the opposite or same-sex with whom you have lived with for at least one full year. The relationship you have with your common-law partner must be similar to a marriage.
- Dependent children. These are your daughter(s) and son(s), biological, or step-children, or adopted before they turned 22. If your children are not in your custody, then they are:
- under 22 and do not have a spouse or common-law partner;
- unable to financially support themselves because of a mental or physical condition.
- If your child is 22 or older and single, he may still be eligible if you have been financially supporting him since before he turned 22 and he continues to be dependent on you despite being older.
