Despite the rise of many study destinations, the United States still remains the top choice for international students. However, while there has been an overall increase, colleges reported decline in enrollment.
The US grants permanent residency to applicants qualified and eligible in the Family, Employment, Investment or Other Categories whether the applicant is in or outside the United States.
With a few exceptions, all nonimmigrants (temporary visitors) to the United States are considered to be intending immigrants unless they can prove otherwise: The U.S. Embassy in Manila reports an 80% approval rate and therefore, a 20% rate of refusal for those applying for nonimmigrant/tourist visas.
