Campuses

This research-intensive university has campuses in Lismore (the main campus), Coffs Harbour, the Gold Coast, and branches in some key cities in Australia as well. 

Located in the Northern Rivers region, the Lismore campus is set on more than 75 hectares. Specialist facilities housed on campus includes the Law Moot Court, Nursing and Massage and Osteopathy Room, Sport and Exercise Science facilities including a Biomechanics laboratory and purpose built facilities for Contemporary Music, Visual Arts and Media students.

The Coffs Harbour campus is located midway between Sydney and Brisbane and offers a friendly learning environment, close to some of the finest surf beaches and a World Heritage listed rainforest. Contemporary teaching facilities include a Nursing laboratory complete with simulated wards, and early childhood teaching facilities.

Only 400 metres from North Kirra Beach and next to the Gold Coast Airport in Coolangatta, the Gold Coast campus is the University's newest. With views of the Pacific Ocean, an innovative shared services hub and industry standard facilities, the campus provides a great study environment in a contemporary setting.

The Hotel School Sydney is a unique educational partnership between Southern Cross University and Mulpha Australia, a major player in the hospitality industry. The combination of excellence from Southern Cross University and industry connectivity from Mulpha Australia creates an innovative learning environment. The Hotel School delivers the Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management, Graduate Certificate in International Tourism Management, Graduate Diploma of International Tourism and Hotel Management and the Master of International Tourism and Hotel Management.

Wages and Salaries in Australia

The minimum wages are reviewed every year by the Fair Work Commission's (or FWC) Expert Panel.  Once the review is concluded, a national minimum wage order is made effective, for the first full pay period on or after July 1 each year. 

Beginning July 1, 2017 the current national minimum wage for Australia is AUD18.29 per hour or AUD694.90 for a 38-hour work week, gross of taxes.  If you are covered by the national minimum wage and are a casual employee, you may be entitled to at least 25% casual loading.
