L’universite Catholique de L’Ouest (UCO) is a multi-disciplinary university located in Angers City France and has been around since the middle ages. It was first founded in 1373 but was reopened in 1875. Since then, the school has been one of the premiere Catholic universities in France and has gained a reputation for being one of the important actors in higher education and research today. Students are immersed in a great diversity of cultural activities as Angers was ranked recently by two newspapers for “Being the Highest in Quality of Life”.
UCO Offers more than a hundred programs throughout five faculties, namely: Education, Humanities, Sciences, Human and Social Sciences, and Theology and Religious Sciences. For International Students, the school offers top up courses for newly grads to boost their employability and further enhance their career. These courses are designed to elevate student’s credentials to French standards to be more employable and possibly become a resident. UCO Students can also has a French program available to students who want to be fluent in the language; what better place to practice the language than in France?
Aside from its academic excellence, UCO also prides itself with its attention to developing the student’s spiritual life through diverse activities offered by the Catholic Campus Ministry. (it is important to note that UCO also accepts non-catholics and us not mandatory that they take up the extra units required for catholic students).
