Visa Bulletin March and April 2020

March and April priority dates are shown for comparison and check out how the visa dates moved forward or backward. Use the downtime during the lockdown period brought about by the coronavirus to innoculate your visa processing from being left behind in the sick ward.

Visa Bulletin For March and April 2020

Take advantage of the stay home instructions during the lockdown period by completing your visa processing with the National Visa Center; review the processing dates with the U.S. Service Centers to map out a strategy in preparation for the normalization of processing.

Family-sponsored Preferences, worldwide allocation

First: (F1) Unmarried Sons and Daughters of U.S. Citizens:  23,400 plus any numbers not required for fourth preference.

Second: Spouses and Children, and Unmarried Sons and Daughters of Permanent Residents:  114,200, plus the number (if any) by which the worldwide family preference level exceeds 226,000, plus any unused first preference numbers:

A. (F2A) Spouses and Children of Permanent Residents:  77% of the overall second preference limitation, of which 75% are exempt from the per-country limit;

B. (F2B) Unmarried Sons and Daughters (21 years of age or older) of Permanent Residents:  23% of the overall second preference limitation.

Third: (F3) Married Sons and Daughters of U.S. Citizens:  23,400, plus any numbers not required by first and second preferences.

Fourth: (F4) Brothers and Sisters of Adult U.S. Citizens:  65,000, plus any numbers not required by first three preferences.

In the chart below, we refer to the FINAL ACTION DATES ads the INTERVIEW DATES. If your priority date is on or earlier than that indicated in the preference category under the Interview Date Chart, that means you should have received an interview notice.

If not, review if you have failed to inform USCIS or the National Visa Center about an address change. If a notice of visa availability or to start processing was mailed to your old (previous) address, you may be considered not interested and a letter terminating your application for a visa could be sent for not taking action within one year of being notified.
