Scholarship Programs for Academic Year 2016 - 2017

Getting almost tuition free world-class education is an affirmation of all the hard work you put into your previous schooling.  And if you're fixing on jumpstarting a career overseas, there's nowhere best to get it than in Ireland, the gateway to Europe for leading global companies.

The number of software and pharmaceutical giants setting up corporate headquarters in Ireland also created a need for talent and skills immediately available to keep a company’s competitive edge.

Recruiting qualified professionals and skilled workers from overseas takes time.  And 6 months in the IT, engineering and science worlds is an eternity.

By then, applications would have been created, marketed, upgraded and offered to clients, worldwide.  Food and drug research would have been validated, new drugs up for test marketing.  New financial instruments would have emerged to capture idle or fence-sitting investments.

Without a steady supply of talents and skills, a software, pharmaceutical, healthcare or financial firm would be left behind watching the dust trail of competitors.

To be ahead of the competition, companies with headquarters in Ireland turn to graduates of colleges and universities.

Responding to this need and in keeping with its leading role of providing Ireland-based companies with the talent and skills they need, University College Cork (UCC) offers incentives to international, non-EU students.

UCC is the first university in the world to be awarded the international Green Flag, a prestigious award scheme that recognizes the practices of international standard benchmarks of excellence among small and big industry / institutes and organizations aimed at the enhancement and protection of  Environment, Quality of Life and Services globally.

UCC has a limited number of undergraduate and postgraduate 100% scholarships for direct-entry undergraduate students and up to 20 Presidential merit scholarships paying up to 50% of the non-EU fee.  For applicants who have average grades, the university also offers lowered tuition fees if they meet other conditions

The university’s International Office is ranked 1st in Ireland and 3rd in the world with a 94% satisfaction rating. UCC is also rated Best for Student Support & Careers Service.  You can therefore be assure that your needs and rights will be respected while studying.
