How to Get a U.S. Tourist Visa

U.S.Consuls on Tourist Visa Applications

Due to numerous and consistent request for information on how to apply for tourist or visitor visas to the U.S., we have annotated a portion of the Visa Hour for our Friends and their Families to learn about the myths and truths when applying for visas at the U.S. Embassy in Manila.

"There is no secret in applying for a tourist visa" is the tag line of the U.S. Embassy.  The short video (less than five minutes) is available on the Consular post website and also posted on  YouTube for the free viewing of the public.

We have annotated an excerpt so that our Friends, viewers and their families would better understand the process and learn the official version instead of listening to hearsay or gossip from individuals.

Each case is different, the U.S. consuls explain. Just because Juan was refused a visa application does not mean your application will be denied as well.  Be ready to explain your life's situation.

With only a few minutes to state your purpose, the key is the proper and appropriate completion of the DS 160 online application form which the consuls rely on for their decision.  The link to the video is here -

Happy viewing.
