Seven months into the year, the number of candidates invited to apply for permanent residency through Canada's Express Entry has already reached 16,041. By the way the selection is going, the number of candidates eligible to pursue permanet residency through Canada's immigration selection system will be equal to if not surpassing the 2015 numbers.

Also, the profile of successful candidates invited to apply for residency remains the same: those who are already in Canada as international students or temporary foreign workers.

What has changed is the thrust by the Canadian government to get more French speaking candidates. The current selection system of Quebec is online and in French only. There are instructions that one may use to submit an application for a Certificate of Acceptance,  but the time is limited to only 10 minutes.  After that you have to start from scratch.
