With a decade of steady growth and continuing projects till 2014, British Columbia’s Ministry of Finance issued a call for qualified applicants to fill in 935,000 job openings.

For Filipinos, the options to take advantage of this opportunity are:

  1. Ensure qualifications and skills are considered the Canadian equivalent
  2. Provide evidence of English language proficiency – especially for permanent job offers. Click this link for the English language test - https://www.britishcouncil.ph/exam/ielts/dates-fees-locations
  3. Harness your network in Canada to get employment referrals, have access to potential work-permit sponsors.  In some cases, having relatives or close friends in some Canadian provinces becomes essential in getting permanent residency, such as in Manitoba.
