90,000 Job Openings in Saskatchewan till 2019

 Saskatchewan Occupational Outlook 2015-2019

A five-year forecast by the Saskatchewan government shows that there are approximately 95,000 job openings in the province, providing employment prospects for 423 occupations.

Good prospects suggest that an occupation has more favorable or above-average employment prospects.

Qualified skilled workers overseas would have to compete with local job applicants including graduates, apprentices from academic and vocational institutions.  Employers and non-profit organizations have access to the Canada-Saskatchewan Job Grant to provide training programs up to a maximum of $250,000 annually and up to $10,000 per trainee.

International students and foreign workers employed temporarily in Canada have an edge since they could have face-to-face interviews with potential employers.  In addition, where local applicants may not be readily available, an employer may check the pool of pre-qualified candidates in the Express Entry selection program.
