Before you check the dates, know the changes.

We would like to acknowledge our readers, followers and supporters not only from the Philippines but worldwide.

Based on information from our host/server, we have a significant number of readers and followers in other countries and continents.  Hence the Visa Bulletin for January 2017 shows the Final Date for all categories in the Family-sponsored and Employment-based categories.  And as a bonus, we have compared the visa movement in the same categories for the same month two years earlier (2015) so that our readers/followers would have an idea of how fast the cut-off dates have been moving.

Please note that the State Department now publishes two charts: one for the FINAL DATES and the other FILING DATES.  For now we are only comparing the movement of the FINAL DATES and the cut-off dates in 2015 since the dates to start processing or submitting documents were not yet published then.

The information for each category on top and in bold is the priority date for January 2017, the figure below represents the priority date for January 2015.

(NOTE: Numbers are authorized for issuance only for applicants whose priority date is earlier than the final action date listed below.)

*Employment Third Preference Other Workers Category:  Section 203(e) of the Nicaraguan and Central American Relief Act (NACARA) passed by Congress in November 1997, as amended by Section 1(e) of Pub. L. 105-139, provides that once the Employment Third Preference Other Worker (EW) cut-off date has reached the priority date of the latest EW petition approved prior to November 19, 1997, the 10,000 EW numbers available for a fiscal year are to be reduced by up to 5,000 annually beginning in the following fiscal year. This reduction is to be made for as long as necessary to offset adjustments under the NACARA program. Since the EW cut-off date reached November 19, 1997 during Fiscal Year 2001, the reduction in the EW annual limit to 5,000 began in Fiscal Year 2002.
