Whether you are in the middle of applying to study overseas or are still thinking about it, it wouldn't hurt to consider applying to universities or colleges that offer scholarships or at the very least, tuition fee discounts for international students.

Some applicants won't even consider an application because they think "I'll never qualify for one, so why bother?"  The answer is because you might still qualify even if you don't have perfect grades.

Scholarships for both UNDERGRADUATE and GRADUATE degree programs are open to ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENT applicants not just from the Philippines. The scholarships are as follows:

The President's International Scholarship is awarded for up to $2,500 per year for international undergraduate and graduate students. It is a competitive scholarship awarded to students who have achieved a high level of academic success.

The SV Red & White Award is awarded to international undergraduate and graduate students based on GPA and entrance exam scores. International undergraduate students receiving the SV Red & White Award will be given the equivalent of approximately:

  1. $50,000 (based on 140 undergraduate course credits) in tuition discounts and;
  2. graduates students will be given the equivalent of approximately $13,000 (based on 30 graduate course credits) in tuition discounts.

The SVSU YES Alumni Scholarship is awarded to international undergraduate and graduate students in recognition of exemplary academic achievement and participation in The Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) program. The SVSU YES Alumni Scholarship is a renewable award of $1,500 per year throughout your studies at SVSU.

Another great thing about these scholarship programs is that no formal application is required.  Once you've made a decision to enroll and submitted your credentials to the university, you will be informed right away if you qualify for the scholarship programs.
