More Opportunities for Migration: New Occupations for South Australia’s State Occupation List
Posted on May 13, 2014 | Australia

This should come as good news as more Filipinos and Indian nationals have been targeting Australia as a migration destination over the past couple of years. South Australia (capital city Adelaide) has added to the state’s List of Occupations in Demand.

And in related news, the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) has announced that there will be no caps for State- and Territory nominated visas.

DIBP explains that, invitations to apply under the points-based skilled migration program may be subject to limits per occupation to ensure that no one occupation will dominate the skilled migration program. Lifting the caps – or ceilings – therefore increases the number of skilled migrant applications that South Australia may accept.

The 18 occupations are as follows:

ANSZCO code Occupations
132111 Corporate Services Manager
134211 Medical Administrator
134299 Health and Welfare Services Managers, nec
149212 Customer Service Manager
149915 Equipment Hire Manager
222311 Financial Investment Adviser
223211 ICT Trainer
224611 Librarian
262111 Database Administrator

391111 Hairdresser
399212 Gas or Petroleum Operator
399918 Fire Protection Equipment Technician

Skilled migration using this State Occupation List is available to all qualified applicants, including Australian international graduates.  Applicants who have completed a Bachelor degree or higher from a South Australia academic institution can also apply if his occupation is on the South Australian Graduate list.
