“Coming out” STILL MATTERS. Same sex partners and their beneficiaries can now be petitioned!

Years ago people from the LGBT community are far more likely to be given equal opportunity under the laws. However, just recently, the efforts of the members of the community and their supporters proved that every person who speaks up changes more hearts and minds, and creates new advocates for equality.

By now, more and more countries are continuously becoming open-minded and have started implementing more liberated laws to protect the rights of the varied sectors of society.

Luckily, the ruling of the US Supreme Court on the case of Windsor vs. United States leveled the playing field for the LGBTs. Sponsored visa applications will now be available to same sex partners. USCIS pronounced that a same sex spouse of a visa applicant coming to the U.S. for any purpose-including work, study, international exchange or as a legal immigrant—will be eligible for a derivative visa.
